Hand Lettering: Song Lyrics #1

Hello!
Today I thought I would share these three hand lettering pieces I made. Obviously, I'm not a professional hand letterer (is that a real job? that's really cool) but I had fun making these and I think they're pretty cute so I wanted to share them with you.

This one is from Counting Stars by OneRepublic but that's easy to guess. The design is really easy but I like it. I worked on my faux-calligraphy skill there.

That one is obviously from Blank Space by Taylor Swift. This piece is my favorite of all three. First, because I just love this line and every time I listen to the song I can't wait for her to say it. I think Taylor Swift is an amazing songwriter. And second, I really like the font I used for 'nightmare' I kind of made it up as I went along but I think it looks cool and goes well with the meaning of the word. I also like how it's asymmetrical.

And the last one is a classic: All You Need Is Love by the Beatles. I learned this technique with the roses on The Postman's Knock. There are a ton of awesome calligraphy and other artsy tutorials on there, so check it out.
I hope you like these and would you mind if I made others? I have so many song lyrics that I would love to hand letter.
Love, Elsa

  1. Hi Elsa, these are great! Love them all, especially the one you did for 'nightmare'. I also love how you made the word 'Love' out of the little roses, it's beautiful. :) Keep them coming. :)

  4. These are just too pretty! I've always wished I were able to do this...but unfortunately I lack any type of artistic talent haha. Excellent work!

    1. Thanks. I'm pretty sure you could learn. Just work on your handwriting, then try a few different ways to write random words. I actually do this in class all the time ;)

    1. Thanks. I hung them to my wall without a frame because it's easier but you're right, it'd look pretty good.
